Between January and March 2021, Boccia England will be delivering a series of Boccia Development Advisory Webinars to support clubs and their members throughout the national lock down, with their return to boccia and beyond. All the webinars will be free to attend and will cover a range of topics to support our boccia clubs both on and off the court. These include online club engagement, supporting positive mental health, accessing funding, PR & fundraising, and returning to boccia.

The details of the webinars are below.

BDA: Supporting Clubs Income Generation – Tuesday 9th March 2021 at 7PM

Description: Join Boccia England’s Fundraising Manager Cally Keetley and Sport England’s Club Development Manager Niall Judge to learn about different ways that your boccia club can generate sustainable income. During the webinar, Cally and Niall will explore a range of methods for generating income including grants and funding, sponsorship, fundraising activities, and Crowd Funding. They will also be providing some useful tips for applying for funding and answering any questions that you may have about generating income.

BDA: Supporting Your Return to the Boccia Court - TBC

BDA: Supporting Online Club Engagement – Monday 25th January 2021 at 7 PM

Do you want to find out how you can best engage online with your boccia club’s members during the national lock down? Boccia England will be joined by guest speakers from Nottingham Boccia Club, GEM Boccia and Jigsaw Bury who will share their experiences of engaging with their club’s members online and will be providing advise on how to best engage online with your club’s members over the coming months.

The webinar will consist of a panel discussion, during which our guest speakers will be answering and discussing questions about how they have engaged online with members of their club. The session will finish with a Q&A session where the guest speakers will be answering questions submitted by viewers throughout the webinar.

BDA: Supporting Positive Mental Well-being – Tuesday 26th January 2021 at 7 PM

Join Hayley Jarvis, Head of Physical Activity from Mind to explore the positive relationship between playing and volunteering in boccia and mental health. During the session we will explore practical techniques to support you and your participants to thrive. We will identify resources to support along with how to access professional mental health support.

The webinar will cover the following:

  • Introduction to what we mean by mental well-being and mental health
  • Taking care of yourself and others during the pandemic
  • Explore the Five ways to well-being

BDA: How to use local press and social media to help your fundraising– Wednesday 17th February 2021 at 4 PM

Description: This webinar with take you through how to use the local press and social media content to grow Club-level boccia activity. You might be looking for more players and volunteers, or keen to do some fundraising.

The session will be run by Louise Third and Mark Saxby, the consultants working with Boccia England to develop new fundraising campaigns. They will describe some of the exciting ideas we can expect this year and into 2022 – and we hope you feel inspired to run them in your area.
